"Beirut in the Air" is a song and video, releasing on the third anniversary of the Beirut port explosion, born from a conversation with distraught Lebanese expatriate artists and journalists and inspired by Charif Majdalani's writing and Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities," imagining Beirut levitating as a tribute and a message of solidarity. Collaborating with visual artist Balsam Abo Zour, the video clip she created layers the song with the powerful and communal dabkeh dance, offering a contrasting yet hopeful response to the crisis through unity and energetic action.
